General information notice. This policy describes how cookies and similar technologies are used on this website. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, or to provide information to the site’s owner.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by other domains embedded into the page (such as a payment provider) are called “third-party cookies”.
2. The cookies we use
By default we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function. Under UK law, strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent — but we are listing them here so you know exactly what is being set. The single exception is our optional analytics cookie, which is only set if you accept it via the consent banner.
Authentication cookies (Clerk)
When you sign in or create an account, our identity provider Clerk sets a session cookie on our authentication subdomain. This cookie remembers that you are signed in so that you do not have to enter your password on every page. The cookie is cleared when you sign out, or it expires automatically after a period of inactivity.
Checkout cookies (Stripe)
When you proceed to pay for a lesson or package, you are redirected to Stripe’s hosted checkout. Stripe sets cookies on its own domain to process the transaction securely and to detect fraud. We do not have access to those cookies. See Stripe’s cookie policy for full detail.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics — optional, consent only)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether the booking flow works well. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (names beginning _ga) and IP addresses are anonymised.
- Nothing is set until you click “Accept” on the consent banner shown on your first visit.
- If you click “Decline”, no analytics script loads at all and we remember that choice.
- To change your mind later, clear this site’s data in your browser (see section 3) and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
What we do NOT use
- We do not use Meta Pixel, advertising pixels, or any behavioural-marketing script.
- We do not sell your browsing data or share it with advertising networks.
- We do not place cookies on your device for marketing or remarketing purposes.
3. How to control cookies
You can control or delete cookies at any time using your browser’s settings. Each browser provides slightly different controls; the most common ones are:
Please note that if you block our authentication cookie you will not be able to sign in to your account, book lessons, or view your package credits.
4. Your analytics choice
In line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), no analytics cookie is ever set before you have given consent through the banner. Declining has no effect on your ability to use the site, book lessons, or manage your account. See Google’s cookie documentation for details of how Google Analytics cookies work.
5. Changes to this policy
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be announced by email if you have an active account.
